ARTIST STATEMENT

**Fabrini Crisci – Artist and Magician | COPAG Deck of Cards**

Immersed in the world of pop surrealism, my works invite the viewer on a magical journey through the realms of the circus and illusion.

Inspired by the mastery of manipulating reality and the characteristic irony of the great masters of surrealism, I seek to create a dreamlike universe where everyday life is transformed into a spectacle.

Through vibrant colors and unusual compositions, I explore the duality between the real and the imaginary, inviting the audience to question perception and find meaning in the small wonders of everyday life.

The versatility of acrylic paint allows me to explore textures and layers, creating a three-dimensional effect that intensifies the magical atmosphere of my paintings.

With a touch of sarcasm and plenty of humor, my works celebrate life, art, and the human ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

DECLARAÇÃO DO ARTISTA

BIO

Fabrini Crisci

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in December 1964, Fabrini Crisci embodies the unique fusion of illusionism and the visual arts.

His artistic education began at the École d'Art Villiers in Paris, where he studied Fine Arts. An internationally acclaimed contemporary illustrator, he has contributed to leading publications in the world of magic, including Magic Magazine and Genii Magazine (United States), as well as L'Illusionniste (France).

His artistic journey began at an early age. At just 14, he started working in a magic manufacturing workshop, where his fascination with the art of illusion first took shape. By the age of 16, he was already performing professionally as a magician, launching a career that would take him to prestigious stages around the world.

In 1988, he achieved a historic milestone by winning First Prize at the FISM World Championship of Magic (International Federation of Magic Societies), held in the Netherlands. This accomplishment established him as the first—and to this day, the only—Brazilian World Champion of Magic, securing his place on the international stage.

Deeply inspired by the worlds of illusion, circus, and cabaret—environments with which he shares a lifelong connection—Fabrini discovered in the visual arts a new dimension for his creative expression. What began as a personal refuge between performances evolved into a distinctive body of work characterized by exuberant characters, dreamlike atmospheres, and imaginative narratives that evoke wonder, mystery, and fantasy.

In his paintings and drawings, visual art becomes a natural extension of magic: a universe where imagination and reality intertwine, inviting the viewer to cross the boundaries of the ordinary and enter a world of poetic vision, enchantment, and timeless imagination.

Initially influenced by cartoon art, Fabrini refined his technique by exploring oil painting and later acrylics, adapting each medium to his expressive needs while continually seeking new possibilities.

In 2005, his talent transcended both canvas and stage: at the invitation of the Director of the Princess Grace Theatre in Monaco, he created the poster for Monte Carlo Magic Stars, which, at the request of Prince Albert II, became a commemorative postage stamp of the Principality.

Fabrini Crisci has established a solid career as a painter, exhibiting his works in some of the world’s most important galleries as a distinctive and original artist in contemporary art.

“I am fascinated by the world of freak shows, cabinets of curiosities, and the cabarets of the 1930s and 1940s. The elements and characters belonging to this world have their own peculiarities, seduction, and beauty.”

He believes that behind darkness there is an explosion of feelings—whether restrained or not—which, when felt and understood, lead us to the fascination of opposites that paradoxically complete us, as they too are part of human essence.

Fabrini Crisci is not merely an artist; he is a master of illusion who, with a unique and irreverent взгляд, invites the audience to dive into his electrifying imagination, revealing the comic and, at times, unsettling side of reality.
